How we work

Speech therapy in schools & clinic

We offer flexible service delivery — in your school, at our Bankstown clinic, or through home visits — built around how your child learns best.

The process

From first conversation to confident communication

1

Discuss your concerns

Once we have discussed your child's needs, we begin investigating your concerns together.

2

Assessment

Assessments examine pictures, question-answering and pointing responses across speech, language, literacy, social and early communication skills.

3

Individual therapy

Sessions involve a range of strategies to support skills in playing, talking, listening, socialising, reading and writing.

4

Review & report

We track meaningful progress and share a summary so families and schools know exactly how their child is going.

Service delivery models

Four flexible ways we support schools

We tailor the model — or combine several — to suit your school's size, priorities and students.

Whole School Program

Busy Bees SPS provides a whole school service which involves various programs tailored to each school's individual needs.

Whole Class Support

A team-teaching approach where the speech pathologist collaborates with teachers to enrich lessons and support every student.

Small Group Intervention

A small group of identified students are withdrawn from class to work with the speech pathologist on their specific needs.

Individual Student Support

Initial assessment, goal setting and 1:1 therapy during class time — typically over 10 weeks with a summary report.

School-based therapy

We come to your school and work within the classroom and existing routines.

Clinic-based therapy

Sessions at our Bankstown clinic in the Flinders Centre.

Home visits

Therapy in the comfort of your child's home, where appropriate.
