Programs tailored to every child & school

Busy Bees SPS provides a whole-school service involving various programs tailored to each school's individual needs — plus targeted group and individual support.

01

Whole School Program

A tailored, school-wide approach to communication

Our Whole School Program embeds speech pathology expertise across your entire school community. We work alongside leadership and teaching staff to design a service that reflects your school's priorities, student profile and existing frameworks — from professional development for teachers to classroom-wide language and literacy strategies. Every program is built around the unique needs of your school, ensuring communication support reaches every student.

  • Programs tailored to each school's individual needs
  • Collaboration with leadership and teaching staff
  • Professional development and capacity building for teachers
  • School-wide language and literacy strategies
02

Whole Class Support

Team-teaching that lifts every learner

With Whole Class Support, the speech pathologist uses a team-teaching approach whereby they can collaborate with teachers on the lessons already prepared, to add in activities for enrichment or modify them with simplified activities for students who require specific support. Coverage includes speech to literacy (phonological awareness programs), as well as promoting expressive and receptive language in the classroom — so the whole class benefits from evidence-based communication strategies.

  • Team-teaching alongside the classroom teacher
  • Enrichment activities added to existing lessons
  • Simplified activities for students who need extra support
  • Speech-to-literacy and phonological awareness programs
  • Promotes expressive and receptive language in class
03

Small Group Intervention

Targeted support in a supportive setting

In Small Group Intervention, a small group of identified students are withdrawn from class to work with the speech pathologist on their specific needs. The process involves screening and goal identification, after which a tailored plan is put in place to manage their communication needs. Working in a small group lets children learn from one another, practise new skills in a social setting, and receive focused, individualised attention.

  • Screening to identify students who will benefit
  • Clear, individualised goal identification
  • A tailored plan to manage communication needs
  • Social learning in a small, supportive group

Individual Student Support

One-on-one therapy built around your child

Individual Student Support begins with an initial assessment using a range of tools, followed by establishing goals and delivering 1:1 therapy during class time. Sessions typically run for 10 weeks and a summary report is included at the conclusion of intervention. This focused, one-on-one model allows us to target each child's specific communication goals and track meaningful progress along the way.

  • Initial assessment using a range of tools
  • Collaborative goal setting
  • 1:1 therapy delivered during class time
  • Typically 10 weeks of intervention
